It is important to note that the real and imaginary components stored are the real and imaginary Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) component and NOT the real and imaginary impedance components. The DFT that is used to measure (detect) the peak signal through the system also has a real and imaginary component. The real and imaginary components of the impedance are calculated from the absolute impedance |Z| and the impedance phase angle: i.e., Rz = |Z|COS(θ) and Iz = |Z|Sin(θ).
