The T9602 concept saves a number of components by allowing the sensor chip to communicate directly with the controller, bypassing the need for convertors and power supplies, as it also uses either a 3.3 or 5V rail to power the sensor. The output from the sensor is either digital I2C or analog pulse density modulated signal.
