PULS FIEPOS power supplies are developed for flexible, modular systems by shaping machine design and system engineering. Decentralization of system components has proven to be an important factor for success. They speed up system planning, simplify maintenance, and enable easy system expansion. In addition, control enclosures can be replaced with smaller versions or even eliminated entirely. The FIEPOS field power supplies with protection class IP65/67 are easy to install and flexible enough to meet the diverse requirements of modular factory automation.
FIEPOS power supplies are available in over 30 models, with a wide variety of output configurations, user interfaces, and connector types. Both 1-phase and 3-phase input versions are available. The variety of industrial applications that can benefit from FIEPOS field power supplies is nearly limitless. In particular, modular applications in conveyor systems, storage technology, robotics, control technology, regulation technology, and material handling will benefit from this technology. FIEPOS power supplies provide information on important parameters such as service life, temperature, voltage, current, and more via IO-Link, and alarms for overload, faulty DC voltage, or triggered channels. Remote access is also possible via IO-Link. This enables the device to be switched on and off remotely, voltage and tripping currents to be set and tripped channels to be reset. FIEPOS field power supplies can be mounted in three different ways: by attaching to a DIN rail, by hanging and fixing them in place via the integrated keyholes, or by screw mounting. No matter which way is chosen, no additional accessories are required.
The FIEPOS basic series with a single output can be connected directly from the cabinet to the field. The compact housing with a high degree of IP protection (IP65 and IP67) and various connection options facilitates flexible positioning directly on the machine. This provides cost savings because FIEPOS enables the use of shorter cables and smaller wire gauges. This not only saves on copper costs but also on cabling installation. The output voltage and the current-limited outputs (eFused series) can be monitored and set directly via the LED interface and the front push buttons of the device or remotely via IO-Link. The power supplies are environmentally friendly, with a high efficiency of >95%, keeping the device cool. This means there is no need for any harmful potting compound, which extends the product’s lifespan.
The FIEPOS eFused series with up to four outputs is a decentralized power supply with current-limited outputs. With this series, it could not be easier to establish selective current distribution, protection, and monitoring directly in the field. This provides a decentralized alternative to power supplies protected by either an external, electronic four-channel protection module, four circuit breakers, or four external fuses. The selective current distribution makes the eFused versions ideal for simultaneously supplying electromechanical loads (e.g., motors) and sensitive devices, such as PLCs or sensors using a decentralized, fused power supply unit. In addition, the selective shutdown of faulty outputs ensures a high level of operational reliability. eFused devices continue to gain popularity due to the clear benefits they offer over other solutions on the market. The space-saving integrated, current-limited outputs mean no additional protection modules are required. The high degree of protection (IP65 and IP67) facilitates decentralized use directly on the machine. Excellent system availability with selective protection means only faulty outputs are switched off, which ensures system availability. With ease of operation tasks, such as setting tripping currents, resetting faulty circuits and monitoring can all be completed via IO-Link or directly on the front of the device. FIEPOS eFused power supplies provide straightforward administration and logistics. Instead of several different components, an all-in-one solution provides easier troubleshooting with local diagnostics, fewer part numbers to manage, and increased system reliability.
