PTCB Series of Programmable Circuit Breakers

Phoenix Contact's PTCB series of single-channel electronic circuit breakers is now approved through UL for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. Hazardous locations exist across a wide array of industries from oil and gas applications to wastewater treatment plants, mining, chemical plants and pharmaceutical production, grain handling, mills, paint shops, and more. Potentially explosive areas in North America are subject to stringent requirements that ensure the reliability and safety of electrical equipment installed within them. Equipment installed in a hazardous location must be approved for installation in these areas. The entire PTCB circuit breaker family has been tested and approved to meet CID2 requirements.

The single-channel PTCB series is Listed to UL 508 and recognized to UL 2367, making the devices ideal for 24 V_DC applications requiring high density and effective protected power distribution to multiple common loads. With an adjustable range from 1 A to 4 A and 1 A to 8 A, the single-channel PTCB covers a wide range of applications with a single part number.

Offering a comprehensive range of bridging options for input and output potentials, the PTCB can bridge to CLIPLINE complete portfolio of terminal blocks, making it uniquely flexible for distributing 24 V_DC power. The 6 mm wide footprint saves precious space in the control cabinet, and protection can be adapted to the respective application with little wiring effort. Individual protection of the loads and potential distribution across several loads can be set up quickly and easily.
