T520 Low ESR Polymer Electrolytic, 2 – 10 VDC
The T520 Low ESR Polymer Electrolytic provides the widest range of voltage, capacitance and case size options in the KO-CAP family. Suitable for general purpose DC applications up to 10 volts, the T520 is ideal for DC-to-DC converters, bulk decoupling and hold-up.
T521 High-Voltage Polymer Electrolytic, 16 – 63 VDC
The T521 High-Voltage Polymer Electrolytic is designed for higher application voltages than the T520 KO-CAP. They were developed for use on 12, 24, 28 and 48 volt DC voltage rails. The low ESR of the T521 provides high ripple current capability. KO-CAP's long-life reliability enables the T521 to be an ideal alternative to liquid-based electrolytic capacitors
T528 Low ESL Polymer Electrolytic for CPU/GPU Decoupling
The T528 Low ESL Facedown Terminal Polymer Electrolytic combines ultra-low ESR and high capacitance in a package design that offers the lowest ESL in the market. This series offers exceptional performance for high-speed microprocessor, FPGA or ASIC decoupling designs. The T528 Series utilizes a unique termination design that allows for a reduction in the inductance loop area and comes in 1.5 to 2 mm case heights. This capacitor series offers improved capacitance retention at frequencies of up to 1 MHz.
T598 High Performance Automotive Grade Polymer Electrolytic, 6.3 – 16 VDC
The T598 High Performance Automotive Grade Polymer Electrolytic was developed to deliver higher reliability and stability under harsh environmental conditions. Special enhancements to the design and material were introduced to deliver 1,000 hours under 85°C/85% RH/VR and to fully comply with AEC-Q200 Qualification Testing. The T598 is manufactured in an ISO TS 16949 certified plant and is subjected to PPAP/PSW and change control.
T591 High Temperature/High Humidity Polymer Electrolytic, 2.5 – 50 VDC
The T591 High Temperature/High Humidity Polymer Electrolytic delivers higher capacitance and ESR stability under harsh environmental conditions. Enhancements to the design and selected material upgrades render this the first KO-CAP capable of stable performance after 500 hours at 85°C/85% RH/VR. The T591 is manufactured in a ISO TS 16949 certified plant. Parts are available with PPAP/PSW and change control.
T530 High Capacitance Low ESR Polymer Electrolytic, 125°C, 2.5 – 16 VDC
The T530 High Capacitance Polymer Electrolytic expands the capacitance ranges of the T520 KO-CAP with a higher 125°C operating temperature and lower ESR options. The improved ESR levels allow for higher ripple current capability than the T520. The T530's reduced ESR, ripple current capability and capacitance retention at higher frequencies provide the lowest total capacitance and most economical solution for high switching frequency DC power applications.
T525 Polymer Electrolytic 125°C, 2 – 16 VDC
The T525 Polymer Electrolytic is rated for 125°C operating temperatures, extending the category temperature of the standard T520 KO-CAP. The T525 delivers a higher temperature rating for applications that may exceed 105°C, while still offering the same advantages such as low ESR, high frequency capacitance retention, long life and stable capacitance as other KO-CAPs.
T545 Polymer Electrolytic (KO-CAP®), 6.3 – 35 VDC
KEMET's Organic Capacitors (KO-CAP) are preferred solutions for applications requiring power loss protection (hold-up) or maximum power efficiency of a circuit when board space is limited. Desired benefits include high energy density, stable capacitance with applied voltage and temperature, and no aging effects. The conductive polymer cathode of these solid electrolytic capacitors provide very low ESR and higher capacitance retention at high frequencies. Unlike liquid electrolyte-based capacitors, KEMET's polymer capacitors have a very long operational life and high ripple current capabilities. Capacitors from T520, T521 and T523 series are commonly used in these applications. The T545 and T548 series were introduced to meet specific needs for a subsegment of solid state drives.
T523 Series Polymer Electrolytic Capacitors
KEMET's organic capacitors (KO-CAP®) are a solid electrolytic capacitor with a conductive polymer cathode capable of delivering very low ESR and improved capacitive retention at high frequencies. KO-CAP combine the low ESR of multilayer ceramic, the high capacitance of aluminum electrolytic, and the volumetric efficiency of tantalum into a single surface-mount package. Unlike liquid electrolyte-based capacitors, KO-CAP have a very long operational life and high ripple current capability.
T527 Facedown Polymer Electrolytic
The T527 Miniature Polymer Electrolytic utilizes a facedown terminal technology that combines packaging efficiency with a low-profile component. This series offers high capacitance in a 3216-10 (3.2 mm (L) x 1.6 mm (W) x 1.0 mm (H)) package size. The T527 is ideal for use in densely populated circuits such as smart phones and digital cameras where space restrictions do not allow for larger and more commonly available high capacitance case sizes.
T529 Small Case Substrate Terminal Polymer Electrolytic
The T529 Small Case Substrate Terminal Polymer Electrolytic design results in the most volumetrically efficient packaging technology available today in polymer electrolytic chip capacitors. This series offers high capacitance values in a small 2012-10 (2.0 mm (L) x 1.2 mm (W) x 1.0 mm (H)) package size. The T529 Series is ideal for use in densely populated circuits such as smartphones and digital cameras where space restrictions do not allow for larger and more commonly available case sizes.
T540/T541 COTS Polymer Electrolytic for High Reliability Applications, 2.5 – 63 VDC
The T540/T541 COTS Polymer Electrolytic offers the same performance advantages as other KO-CAP series with screening options associated with high reliability ("Hi-Rel") applications. These Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) grade components are built with a tin-lead (SnPb) termination finish and offer several surge current screening options. The recommended application derating for these capacitors is 10 – 20%, rendering them suitable for application voltages from 2.25 to 50 VDC.
T543 COTS Polymer Electrolytic, 2.5 - 63 VDC
The T543 (COTS Polymer Electrolytic) is standard KO-CAP product screened at higher specifications using in-house testing frequently requested by aerospace, automotive, and military industries. Rated up to 105°C operating temperature, these capacitors are suitable for applications ranging from 1 V to 50 V and have the desired benefits of polymer - - low ESR, high frequency capacitance retention, long operational life, and high ripple current capability. Manufactured in the U.S., specialty-focused facility, this product offers a viable, sustainable, and cost-effective solution for customers seeking additional assurance in performance. This series currently offers surge current (10 cycles at +25°C, 10 cycles at –55°C / +85°C) and termination finish (100% Sn, Sn/Pb) options. Customized testing and material sets can be provided upon request.
T599 Automotive Polymer Series Capacitor
KEMET's T599 series utilizes the latest advancements in materials and design to deliver the only surface-mount polymer capacitor that is fully AEC-Q200 qualified with maximum operational temperature up to 150ºC. The solid-state polymer cathode system delivers low ESR while the tantalum anode ensures reliability levels that far exceed the lifetime use of a vehicle. Additional features include stable capacitance across voltage and temperature, no loss of capacitance due to aging or dry out, high humidity handling, excellent shock and vibration performance, low profile design, small footprint, and a benign failure mode. The series is RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
