Curta Antenna for 4G/3G Applications

Antenova’s Curta antenna for 4G and 3G applications supports several wireless technologies and accommodates multiple bands. The Curta antenna is a surface mount compact antenna measuring 40 mm x 10 mm x 1.7 mm with placement on the short end of the host PCB. It is designed for coexistence requirements and can be integrated as a single antenna or in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless technology system that uses multiple transmitters and receivers to transfer more data simultaneously.

Supported technologies include LTE, GSM, CDMA, DCS, PCS, WCDMA, UMTS, HSPDA, GPRS, EDGE, and IMT. Optimal efficiency ratings cover many bands, including 698 MHz to 960 MHz (56%), 1710 MHz to 2170 MHz (66%), 2300 MHz to 2400 MHz (52%), and 2500 MHz to 2700 MHz (53%). Average peak gain ranges from -2.5 dB, -1.7 dB, -2.8 dB, and -2.7 dB, respectively. The temperature range is -40°C to +140°C, which supports automotive, full-range industrial, and power supply level requirements.

The Curta antenna is a suitable solution to supply connectivity for applications such as 4G routers, OBD2 vehicle tracking systems, medical equipment, tablets, industrial and MIMO systems, femtocell/picocell networks (small cells are low-powered cellular radio access points), and IoT sensor networks.

An evaluation board (SRL096-EVB-1) is available for Curta to conduct internal analysis.
