Compact PCC420 Series Vibration Sensors

Amphenol Wilcoxon Sensing Technologies’ loop-powered 4 mA to 20 mA sensors house an accelerometer, signal conditioner, and processor in a single housing. They output a 4 mA to 20 mA signal proportional to the overall vibration level that indicates changes in machine health to provide a warning before equipment failures without requiring complex analysis. This data can feed directly to most process control systems, including PLCs, DCSs, and SCADA systems, where trends are easy to see and simple alarm and trip limits can be set.

Vibration data can be easily incorporated into existing monitoring systems and can provide a new level of protection with around-the-clock machinery health monitoring. Trend data improves the reliability of critical assets where no vibration monitoring program exists. Because of the lower price point, compared to traditional vibration monitoring, it can be introduced for the balance of plant machinery that is not currently being monitored for cost considerations. And it can maximize resources and reduce walk-around time by focusing only on problem machines. It can also increase the effectiveness of condition monitoring programs that already track 4 mA to 20 mA process parameters such as pressure, temperature, or flow.
