Yageo's high-power, low-resistance current-sensing chip resistors minimize the resistance change caused by self-heating and high-temperature environments

Image of Yageo's Current-Sensing Chip ResistorsIn high-power, current-sense applications, the low-temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) provided by Yageo’s low-ohmic current sensor PE/PR series (based on metal technology), minimizes the resistance change caused by self-heating and high-temperature environments. Thermal electromotive force (EMF) is also an important consideration. Lower EMF is most likely to endure under harsh conditions.

The PE series, made of Mn-Cu alloy, is especially optimized for low-EMF (below µ0.03 µV/oC). The series is developed with substrates to provide better thermal dissipation and a wider resistance range up to 300 mΩ. Metal plate current-sensing resistors without multiple cuts are a related simple construction. They provide low-TCR down to ±25 ppm/°C, high power rating of up to 5 W, high-frequency performance, and low resistance down to 0.5 mΩ
