Whether regulated or unregulated, isolated to 10kVDC, or carefully designed for extremely high ambient temperatures of +100°C - RECOM offers a suitable DC/DC converter for every application. Unregulated DC/DC converters are typically used in general purpose power isolation and voltage matching applications and feature a full industrial operating temperature range of -40°C up to +85°C without derating. Regulated DC/DC converters are designed for industrial applications, can drive high capacitive loads and operate over a broad temperature range without derating. Furthermore they provide stable output voltages when the input voltage suddenly changes.
The RPMB series is extremely efficient with a rating of 94%, as well as an exceptionally wide operating ambient temperature range of -40°C to +100°C with derating. Both series come in a compact 12.0 mm x 12.0 mm x 3.75 mm package which is complete with six-sided shielding for optimal EMC performance and heat management. This power-dense converter is also fully protected against short circuit, overcurrent, and overtemperature conditions and can drive high capacitive loads of up to 0.2 F.

The pricing has now been further reduced on the R1SE Series from RECOM, with 1 watt of power, 1000 VDC isolation, and 5 V input/output, is the first release in the new economical “E-class”. These converters are primarily used to provide isolation for the interfaces of bus systems. In these applications, operating temperatures of +85°C without de-rating are sufficient. It is unnecessary to use high-grade temperature components that de-rate down to +85°C.
The case, measuring only 12.75 x 10.7 x 6.7 mm and consisting of two parts, has been designed so that potting is not necessary - further reducing the material cost. Weighing only 1 gram, this lightweight component can be positioned quickly and precisely with automatic placement equipment. Although un-potted, the 100% lead-free design enables it to withstand all thermal cycling in the vapor phase solder processes. The modules are UL60950 certified.
